Hey guys,

Just built my new computer and everything bar the sound is working.

I just installed everything on the dick that came with the motherboard,
and tried disabling the graphics card sound, Intel processor sound. But nothing is working.

Is there BIOS setting I need, would buying a sound card fix this problem?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Download the latest drivers from ASrock. The drivers on your disc are probably outdated.

Did you remember to connect the audio connector to the m/b header? The bios should autodetect your audio needs - no sound card is needed.

Hi Mark,

I have installed the latest version of realtek from the ASrock site.

Sorry, Just checked, I have tried putting both the HDMI and AC'97 in to the 'Front Panel Audio Header' and neither are working, I've left the HDMI in now.

There should be a cable coming from the front of you case that has two 10pin connectors. One will be marked AC97 and the other will be marked HD audio. Connect the HD audio connector to the audio header on your motherboard. The header is located in the upper left corner (looking at the m/b from above with cpu on right).

Also, have you tried the i/o connector on the rear (the green one)?

Again Mark sorry but I'm not sure which one is the I/O connector?

The i/o panel is the block of connectors on the rear of your motherboard that contains multiple connectors and fits through the shield on the rear. The same place you hook up your keyboard and mouse.
