Hi all,

I'm currently running Windows 7 on a SSD drive, I then have another hard drive which contains my documents, music, ect..

I bought a new hard drive and installed Linx Mint (I unconnecting the other hard drives & used a burt disc of LM.)

Now, with all hard drives (+ the SSD) connected the computer automatically boots Linx Mint.

Any idea to how I can select which operating system I was to use when booting the computer.

Many thanks.

Nick.

Change the boot order in bios, so the ssd is your first boot device. Most mobo allow to select th boot device with a function key like f12 while booting in addition. You can also add the linux disk to the windows boot manager. Google has a lot of manuals how to do that.

If you are asking if you can choose between the two at boot, then the answer is yes. When you installed Mint with no other drives attached, the bootloader for mint (grub2) only saw mint for an operating system. If you want to have a choice, make sure you have both the ssd and the hdd hooked up, go into mint and open a terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and run this command -- sudo update-grub. The terminal will ask for your mint password and after you enter that, grub should find both mint and windows.

The next time you boot, you should have an option screen that shows both os's. Arrow up or down to choose which os you wish to boot.
