cant open ports

Hi, every time I try to use canyouseeme.org it always tells me the connection was refused. I bridged my modem to my router and on my router I forwarded the ports but it still cant connect. It wont work even why I tried using DMZ mode. I do not know what to do.
P.S. I disabled the windows firewall and the router is a linksys e1000

Unfortunately you didn't mention the specific ports, but beware, many ISP block ports, esp. the well-known ports < 1024. So if you're trying to use say, SSH (w/ a default port of 22), you may need to remap the external port elsewhere, say 22222.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm trying to open ports 80, 443, 7001, 8888, 9901, and 9911 so that I can use my trading software. Even when I try checking the ports that are above 1024 they still come up as being closed so I'm not sure what I should do.
