Hey everybody, i hope im posting in the right spot! Anyway, i am building a custom pc and am picking out the parts, i have done some research and think these will fit. However, you can never be too sure. The last thing i want is to buy the CPU and discover it doesent fit the motherboard.

That is my full list of stuff, i am unsure about the ram, should i go 8x4gb, 8x8gb, or just 4x4gb; and if i can go with 2400 or 1600.
I am kinda going all out on this one. And should i go with the gtx 670? I will be playing bf3 and bf4(when it comes out), some fps games, and more games. I will be doing some video editing too.
If you guys could tell me if my parts are compatible that would be amazing, and also if i forgot anything. P.S. The 3tb hardrive is for backup stuff.
Thanks much.

Everything you listed is compatible. I would bump the RAM up to 1866. Unless you are using CAD, running virtual machines or editing insanely large files, you dont need more than 16Gigs of RAM.

I would also Increase the graphics card. Get into a 7970. If you need to find room in your budget, drop that motherboard. You will do just fine with something in the $200 range.

Thanks, would a gtx670 be a better option? Also the max ram speed for my motherboard is 2133(i think)? So that means the 2400 i found wont work :(. And for ram, does the limit only depend on the mobo or also the processor?
Ram's found:

I know my motherboard is overboard but i figured i might as well spend the extra doh and get a better one (since it lasts a long time). Also What is the difference between Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge E? I was just looking at the 3770k and didnt know what that meant.
Thanks

So i did a little more research and discovered that my motherboard supports up to 2800MHz but my CPU only supports 1600MHz. :( Does that mean 2400 wont work?

You are going overkill with many things. First of all, 16 GB RAM is all you need. Second, you can go with a pn Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard for $140. With the saved money, go for a 7970. Also get the i7 3770k.

Why is the 3770k much more popular then the 3820 and 3930k? Is it because of the ivy bridge? I will also be getting only 16gb of ram. I was orginaly going to get the Asus Rampage IV formula but with 30 more $ I could get the Extreme. What is the equivalent NVIDIA of the Radeon 7970? I want to go with NVIDIA. Thanks for the recommendations!

Asus GTX670-DC2-4GD5 GeForce GTX 670 4GB 915MHz $426.98
Asus GTX680-DC2-4GD5 GeForce GTX 680 4GB 1.01Ghz $542.98
Those are the 670 and 680.
Thanks
