I have a 1080p TV
My PC displays at 1920 x 1080 through VGA perfectly.
But my PS3 displays poorly through HDMI. To start with I thought this might just be that the PS3 had bad resolution. But when I try it on my dad's TV with same cable it looks perfect. It's not just that my TV has bad resolution because My PC VGA looks great.
Does my TV just have poor HDMI quality (it is displaying at 1080p just not well) or is there something I can do. I also get lost more aliasing when playing PS3 on my TV than my Dads. Please note MY dad's PC is more expensive.

you want to check that your tv has no post processing enhancements running on your hdmi input.

like artefact smoothing, motion smooting. noise reduction etc just turn of all enhancements on the hdmi port its not needed.

a friend had all this turned on with his £1000 telly by default and it made blurays and other hdmi input look like someone was smearing Vaseline over everything.

i would also set your colour temperature on the input to warm or warm 2 6500k whichever is the option, will give more accurace colour production much closer to a monitor as tvs are set overly hot/blue for colour production which gives everything a blue tinge.
it may look overly red/orange at first but its more accurate.

^ Would agree I did that with my Panasonic 50" Plasma and it mad a big difference in the picture quality. Most of the post processing stuff is for over the air/cable input and not for direct digital input from a PC or game console and thus is not need for such.

Thanks for the help guys, but my TV doesn't have any of these post processing features.Would getting a HDMI to VGA adaptor help, since the VGA input displays great for PC.
Also it's not colour that's the issue it's just everything seems pixelated and aliased
