Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: Under $900

System Usage from Most to Least Important: video editing of go pro files

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: any

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: Anything really no preference.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No?

Monitor Resolution: dont know, it will be either my 42" or 32" tv

I will be using this computer to make videos using my go pro hero cameras. I have an old laptop that I was using but I was losing my HD from having to render my videos into another format before editing. I am trying to upgrade to make the videos better.

GoPro website suggest a processor speed of 3.0ghz or better and a video card of
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M or better.

I have gone on pcpartpicker and built a mock system. Let me know what you think of it or if I should head in another direction. This is my first build and I have thought about buying a prebuilt pc too but I need to stay within my budget.

Cooler isn't necessary, your build can't overclock.
There is cheaper RAM
Why two pci cards? And more importantly with only one pci - e slot will you put the graphics or the expansion card?
Terrible power supply.Get a Seasonic 380W or 420W/450W

Ok I was only getting the cooler so they system would run cooler and not bog down on me like my laptop. I can take that off.

I picked 2 PCI cards because one is wireless and the other is wired. I will be putting in the office with my router for now but might move to another room later with wireless.

I changed the power supply but I guess it did not save it. I will correct that now. I had chosen a cooler master elite and it is now saved. I also changed to a cheaper memory by 6 bucks.

noob12, your setup has the case not being compatiable with the mother board. also you have no pci card, no audio card (which I would need for sound in videos), the video card is over twice the price and there is no operating software included. This would bust my budget.

I still feel the expansion cards aren't necessary, the motherboard has an ethernet port and audio.
Test it out on the motherboard first is my suggestion, also instead of one for wireless and one for wired why not get one card with both?

Not a problem, again, get a seasonic psu,or a seasonic built one like xfx 450w bronze. They are very high quality, cooler master make better cases than power supplies.
Just have a look at the back ports of the motherboard.
Also if it doesn't bother you,the i5 3350p is cheaper with disabled cpu graphics(you're getting graphics anyway) to save some cash.

Looks good
You can put a Wifi card back, you won't get that with the motherboard. A legacy PCI one perhaps (short gold contacts on the bottom) like this one

Here is what I ordered. I decided not to go with the wifi card as I have a usb card I could use if needed. I had to change the ssd to a scandisk because the samsung was out of stock and I believe is an old model. I also changed the case because of high shipping price. I bought everything from newegg.com besides the mother board since it was cheaper than newegg. Thanks for all your help with everything and helping with my build. Do you guys have any good links to actually building a computer once you recieve all the parts? I have read a few but more will be helpfull.

Ok I have built the computer and had a few hickups so far. I would start up the computer and it would shut down on its own. the fans were not running and lights not coming on. I unplugged everything but the lights and front panel buttons and started it up. worked fine. I started to plug everything in and no problems still runs fine. I got it upstairs to my monitor (tv) and it wont start. Finally figured out its the main power source wire is loose and its now fixed and running. Now I plug in my monitor and to either the graphics card or the mobo and nothing on the monitor. I am using an hdmi source. What could be going wrong now? everything else seems fine.

I got it all working now. The main power supply cable was loose. I had a slew of other problems too but I have worked through them. Only one I am hung up on is when I am trying to shut off the computer I click shut down on windows and windows closes and seems to shut off the power but the blue power button is still on, on my case with all the fans running. I have to manually hold that button down to shut everything off.
