Hi there,
is it possible to access the registry on a USB attached HD???
Or. I have a 2nd HD attached to my computer from another computer with OS WinXP and I want to look at the registry as it will not boot on the notebook it came from.

You could try opening the Command Prompt and, if the USB drive is lettered X, type
x:/%systemroot%\system32\regedit.exe and see what pops up. I've known it to work but also to fail. If it fails, navigate to that drive then to windows\system32\config and see if you have recent backups for the files SAM, SECURITY, SYSTEM and SOFTWARE. If you have, rename the current files, say SAM becomes SAM.old, etc then rename the recent backups as though they were originals. That might cure the booting problems.

If you have an XP CD, it would probably be easier to cure the booting problems in the other machine.
