My Imaging device does not show up in device manager. I go to sound in control panel and it all it shows is speakers checked. It doesn't give me tv option as I want to hook my laptop to my tv. My OS is Windows 7...

Ok first an imaging device is one the takes an image (camera, scanner, etc.). You would never see them in the sound manager either as it is for things that are about sound (Mics., Speakers, Headsets and sound devices or audio cards). To view the laptop on your tv you must connect the laptop to the tv using a cable (HDMI or similar). Windows, through your graphics driver, should then detect the new display. It is the graphics driver that will control the output. If you have HDMI you will get both sound and video. Perhaps if you give more detail and the model/make of your equipment we caqn be of more help.

What do you mean by Imaging device? Scanner, camera? Most of those are input devices to your computer.

If you want sound to go to your TV then you have to hook something to the TV that can send sound to it. That is an output from your computer. You could hook your audio output from your computer to an audio input on your TV (you might need an adaptor). You could also select the HDMI device as your audio output from your computer in Control Panel, "Sound" if your TV supports sound coming in from an HDMI source.

With the HDMI attached to the TV: Go to Control Panel and select the Display Icon; In there select the Change Display Settings option; in there is a drop down list of available displays. If the TV is listed select it as your display. From the specs. I found for either the Advent 1000 or 3000 I doubt you will get usable performance from the TV. Your laptop is not very powerful and uses a "low end" chip for video. Give it a try, can't hurt. GL
