Hello everyone. today I noticed that the sound in my computer is gone (says something like it can't find the drivers, and this is what I tried to do for now:
-System restore= "Can't Restore error"
-Uninstalled virtualbox (I was using it while the sound gets out)=still no sound
-Re-installing the driver=Wasn't able to install it anymode: says that didn't find any cards to connect" or something like that
-Unplugged and pluged back in the sound card=installation still fails
-AVG PC Tuneup: disk and registery errors fix and deleted history= still the installation error
-CCleaner: registery clean= still the installation error
NOTES:
-Using "Creative sound blaster 24bit" sound card
-The sound just stopped,no errors or warnings at all...didn't even noticed it that it's gone...
-Tried to re-install the driver from a disk
-I'm using Windows XP, I had sound few hours ago

Please if you know what the problem is and if you know how to get my sound working again then reply me, or just leave some ideas... :(

Hi, if you can go to your friend and try card there. If still receiving no sound == card is dead.
If you can't go to friend, then I will recomend to you to download hirene's boot, create image of your sistem partition, do a clean install of xp, just drivers. Put card and install dirvers. If you unable to install card, windows xp is not finding as new hardware == card is dead.
But first try to plug it in different slot, it's possible slot is dead (but doubt it).

...0r if you are broke, you can use the built-in speaker jack on your motherboard, just did it and everything is fine...for now (not the same quality, but can't do anything else but ignore the sound card)
