So within the next 2 weeks or so I am going to get a AMD FX 8350. One thing I'm unsure of is if I should stick with the stock cooler or not. I hear it takes up a lot of power and can sometimes run a little hotter then normal, so should I get a separate CPU fan, or just stick with stock?
If you think I need a separate one, let me know what would work best. Thanks!
Edit: I plan to use the CPU for livestreaming and video recording, but I will not OC it.
I run my FX-8350 @stock with the stock cooler just to see if there are any temperature issues. The maximum temperature I ever got to see it running at (in AIDA64) was 62ºC.
The lowest temp ever was 28ºC.
I also own a Scythe Katana 3, which I'll soon install and see how much of a difference it makes. Now, even if the FX-8350 would run just fine with the stock cooler, I would recommend getting an aftermarket one.
The CoolerMaster 212EVO should be good.enough for the FX-8350: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
