ASUS ROG MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 vs. SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB

Howdy, folks. I'm working a custom build using a pair of 7970s, and I can't seem to figure out which is better of the Vapor-X and the Matrix. I'll be air-cooling in a Silverstone Fortress 2, and plan to overclock to the maximum level possible before risking my cards or losing stability. Given all that, which would be superior?

Matrix all the way, look at benchmarks...
  2. Simple you will NOT find a matrix for sale (new) anywhere and it only a little faster with triple slot.
The vapor-X is a GREAT card & can be bought, with no regrets. X wins.

Twere I to be able to acquire new Matrices, and not be concerned about how much space they take up, would your recommendation change? Or would you still be for the Vapor-X?
  4. NO because the 7990 came out since then. And maybe the 8xxx hd series this year (maybe). I run a vapor-x 7970 6GB and I kill every game and love double slot.
  5. As i previously said the get matris cards if you can, either way they are both great cards so its up to you really. But face to face matrix one beats it.
