ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 Memory Speed Question

I have a question about the Sabertooth Z77 memory speed support. It says it supports up to 1866 MHz RAM speed. I assume that since it doesn't have an OC, it doesn't mean overclocking memory speed. Does that mean I will get faster data speeds with 1866 MHz RAM sticks or would I be stuck with 1600 MHz memory speed due to the memory speed of the CPU such as the I5-3570K?

I am asking this because I plan to build A gaming PC this summer after Intel Haswell is released and achieve the highest speed, but have no plans to overclock.

The board supports 1866 even with 1866 sticks the board will downclock them by DEFAULT. You have to set them up in bios(factory speed & timings)/(DOCP or XMP profiles) & see if it will boot. You can run them slower but not faster.

Haswell is a different form factor...it will not work on a z77 sabertooth. Z77 works with ivy-bridge CPU's...which the memory controller is on the CPU and is 1600 MHz native. You get a little bump from 1866, but not much

Try setting it with the x.m.p profile.
