Need advice upgrading graphics

pretty sure dual 670's are better then one 680 performance wise. However it might be beneficial to just go with the 680 and not have to worry about possible SLI problems.

Consider the possibility of upgrading your monitor instead. I kept my same HD 5570 video card and upgraded my monitor to an IPS panel - a world of difference. Text is clearer and sharper, graphics are way more vivid. Worth every penny I paid for it. Newegg has good prices on IPS panels - I paid $140 for mine.
