I think I killed my computer

I recently bought a computer that wouldn't start for $100. I replaced the motherboard and everything started working perfectly. However, when I was moving the processor from the old motherboard to the new one, I somehow managed to forget to screw in the processor fan/heatsink. With only thermal compound holding it together, the fan/heatsink fell off without my knowledge and I think the processor overheated. Whenever I opened the case I found it detached. I applied more thermal compound and screwed it in hoping it hadn't overheated. Whenever I turned on my computer everything started normally except instead of Windows starting I received a message saying that the bios were missing. After I told it to search for them, the screen just went black. I walked away and let it do its thing. After about 18 hours the screen was still black so I decided to restart it. Now whenever I turn it on the fans will start up but the screen stays black. My monitor acknowledges that it's connected to my graphics card but I'm not seeing anything. I thought it might be something with my graphics card, so I took it out and connected the DVI cable to the integrated graphics, but it's still black. So I'm going to assuming it isn't anything to do with the graphics card (correct me if I'm wrong). Any help or insight anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated. I would hate to buy a part that I don't need to replace. Thanks.

It doesn't work. Do you have any idea why I wouldn't be able to see anything at all on the monitor? Everything is plugged in correctly. I tried using 2 other monitors so I know it isn't that. If I could just see what's going on I could probably figure out how to resolve this myself. But I don't know what's going on with the display.

You probably killed the cpu if it will not post at all. They will burn up fast with out a heatsink. That is the only think I can think of. You have tried other monitors so that is not the problem. The motherboard will still light up but won't post the cpu is fried sorry.

Thanks for your help. I'll try replacing the processor. It can't hurt to upgrade from the i3 the computer I bought came with anyway.

Is there a battery on the motherboard? It's a silver coin-like shape. Without it, the cmos chip becomes degraded over a period of time until it no longer holds any information, especially if your pc is turned off at the power point.
