Hello everyone! I've been looking on these forums at other builds for ideas to make my own. The time is coming for me to finally buy my first pc!! Here's what I've got so far. I also plan on adding another video card to crossfire but that will be later down the road. I know an i5-3570k is better for gaming but I just want an i7 for some reason.

No reason to get an mATX motherboard with a full tower. Get a full size ATX motherboard. Get the Hale 90 instead of the Hale 82. The Hale 90 is made by Super Flower and is extremely high quality. You're wasting money buying the BD-R burner - games never have nor ever will be released on this format and using it to watch movies is more of a pain than it's made out to be. Instead of Xigmatek junk, get a Noctua NH-U9B instead.

I would suggest something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($63.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: OCZ Vector Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card ($445.91 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Titanium Grey) ATX Mid Tower Case ($134.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: NZXT HALE 90 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($155.98 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($17.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1468.80
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Differences:

- Hale 90 PSU
- Define R4 is better than Arc MIDI
- Dropped the BD-R drive
- Using fastest SSD on the market
- Upgraded GPU to 7970 GHz edition
- Dropped CPU to i5-3570K
- You don't need 16GB of RAM
- Way better CPU cooler
- Gives you $900 to add monitor(s), OS and everything else you want.

Well some games I play i multibox which is why I went w/ the 16 gb of ram, which is better I was told. Buddy of my recommended i get a 256 gb SSD, so i just listened. But i like the gpu, cooler and mobo. Im set on a 3770k idk why. I just dont want to get an 3570k for some reason. I can drop the blu-ray as well.

Yeah but why pay more money for a CPU that will yield almost no additional performance gain?

For SSD you have to keep in mind that read - write times slow after they reach 80% capacity. A 256GB SSD is also not a very cost effective storage solution. The $240 Samsung 840 Pro is $1.16 / GB. A 128GB OCZ Vector and a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue - at $139 and $69 respectively, comes out to $0.18 per GB.

true that I wont yield any gaming performance. but its just incase I want to venture out into other things as something like editings then my pc will be likely to handle it. still havent decided on an ssd. and what do you think about this mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157299&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

oh and thanks for all the feedback!
