I have been using tomshardware to help solve computer problems I have been having for a while now and I have finally needed to make an account to ask a question. By all means, if this is in the wrong section, please move it.

The Stuff:

Mid-2008 Macbook
- OSX 10.6.8 Snow leopard

Toshiba Excite 10 AT300 (tablet)
- Android 4.1 Jellybean

I am taking a trip to France in a couple of weeks. I plan on taking my tablet and leaving my macbook with my external hard drive connected to it. I am able to leave it at my apartment, connected to the internet, with the drive attached.

I have been looking but cannot find a way to access my Macbook from my tablet through the interent. Every way that I am able to find is through LAN and I need to be able to access it outside my local network. Does anyone know a way that I would be able to do this or is it a lost cause? Can anyone provide a step-by-step guide or a program that would be able to do this?

Thank a ton,
~Furb

I have already tried that. It is just a little slow and it doesn't play sound. I wouldn't be able to watch any of my movies that way.

Sorry I only use it to repair some of my customers computers who are not in the area as me. Why not get an small external drive and put your movies on it and bring it with you.

I have two problems with that: 1. My macbook is the only computer I have currently and I cannot afford for something to happen to it. I had to get rid of some of my other stuff coming to college. 2. Paying for this trip, I do not really have the finances to tack on another hundred dollars to it. It was rough enough paying for it as it is.

I am sorry if I sound arrogant or rude in any way, It is late and I am tired. Thanks for taking the time to look man.
