Ok in the fall this year I am going to college for a biochem major. I already have a desktop I built myself for gaming and for major applications I use recreationally like sony vegas/photoshop etc.

I'm looking for a laptop that can basically just:

1)can do Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

2)with an extremely long battery life/durable battery

3)Lightweight and easily be portable to move around

4) Do they still come with windows 7 T.T?(Also to mention this laptop will be used for at least 4 years for my undergrad)

5) Needs to be $700 or lower also idc if it has an hdd vs ssd since it'll be essentially used for word produces alone so i don't need lots of space
(I have an ssd/1th hdd in my gaming rig.)

Someone mentioned buying a chrome book but I kind of like word and what if I cannot access the internet all the time?

Also something that dose not take ages to load ( I'm assuming with decent security and an i3 with essentially only word docs/internet usage its boot time will be decent) I had a bad experience with a laptop years ago, I've always been a desktop person so I'm clueless on laptops xD

btw this is more first post, hi ^-^

If you still want a Windows 7 machine I'd got to the Dell Small Business site (google it) and look at the E5530 Latitude. I configured an okay machine for $660, you could probably get an SSD in there for +$100 more (or less if you sacrifice CPU or memory). I recommend the 1 year basic onsite support (you don't want to have to mail anything in at college). Before buying anything check for Dell coupons and/or the deals section. Occassionally you'll find a decent i3 machine for $499.
