Will this Ram work, or should I do something different?

I would suggest a minimum of 8GB of DDR3 1600 or 1866 RAM. Most RAM/memory are usually more or less the same in terms of general performance provided, the only thing that matters is the limit the amount of memory your motherboard can handle, as well as any plans on overclocking RAM if any. Overall, it really depends on what you are using your system for.

Here are a couple questions that will also help others willing to provide feedback to your post.

-What OS are you using?

-What programs/applications will you be running? (i.e. gaming, office, workstation)

-Budget?

Usually by knowing these 3 things I can as well as others users can provide suitable solutions for your question :)

Purpose of this build is a high powered HTPC for use on my big screen. I've modified a Lian Li HTPC case to have room for liquid cooling, and a built in xbox 360 wireless controller dongle (I don't like usb device clutter).

Going to try windows 8 though may revert to 7 if I don't like it.

I am debating taking the plunge and getting a EVGA Titan once they are back in stock for the vid card, or run 600 series SLI.

Like I said above, its an ASUS z77 Sabertooth MoBo with an i7 -3770K Ivy. I also made mention that there is not really a budget I'm trying to constrain to. Just looking for the fastest memory option with best compatibility.

Will these not work well?
