E:/Desktop/External refers to a location that is unavailable.

In my case its on my removable hardware. So wen i insert it, my icons appear. wen i remove it again, my icons disappear. so what should i do?

Sorry, but i don't get it. You can not access things on an external disk, when it is disconnected? What do you expect?

All im trying to do is get rid of the error message. The desktop file was on my laptop. I just took all the files and copied it onto my external. Once it was on there, i deleted the desktop folder by accident. So i created a new desktop folder on the external and now it only reads it wen my external is plugged in and i dont get the error message anymore. Once i remove it, the error message just keeps on popping up.
