Ripjaws X are 40mm tall, and the clearance on the TPC 812 is just over 36mm, so they memory will NOT fit.
You really don't need the big heat spreaders for memory - If you like g-skill, try the ares series.
Unless you are planning a massive oc, the tpc 812 will be fine.

Evo is still the best bang for the buck out there, and yes I would pick it over the 812.
As a note, Noctua just came out with a couple of new coolers made for high profile memory. See review here. Substantially more expensive than the Evo, but apparently they would allow you to get the ripjaws.
