Upgrading my GPU CPU and motherboard

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm a total noob when it comes to upgrading hardware. I'm a big gamer though so I'm looking to get the most FPS out of this upgrade. I'd really like to run planetside 2 on the highest settings possible while getting really good frame rates.

I'd like to stick with Intel and a name brand graphics card like EVGA or something, I'd also like to invest the most into the graphics card itself since that is what I'm guessing would give me the best FPS

This is a list of what I currently have:
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTS 250
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
4 Sticks of DDR3 2GBs a stick
700 Watt power supply
Motherboard: Unknown (it came with the prebuilt ASUS computer model: CG5270

I'd like to spend at maximum around 375-400

If you do offer up a list of links let me know if I would need fans with any kind of new set-up while I'm a noob when it comes to all of the above stuff I'm even more of a noob when it comes to the cooling side. I really have no idea how those even work to be honest or what would even fit inside my case.

Again thanks for taking the time to read it and I hope some of you can help!

Cheapest way to get a good amount of more performance would be to get a better GPU.

You can pick up GTX 560 for cheap used, or a 650ti boost new would be a good card for you.

If your motherboard can overclock, you would get a good performance boost from that also.

You would like to buy mobo, gpu and cpu around $400......
Go for amd cpu they are cheaper and much more better than intel .....
Go for and fx 6300 4.0 ghz ,4 cores.............. ($120)
Link for the CPU:http://www.flipkart.com/amd-4-ghz-am3-fx-4300-fx-series...
talking about the mobo, buy the msi 970a-g46 ot supports am3+ socket type ,supports nvidia sli and ati crossfire,4 momory slot,ddr3......
This mobo is cheaper and best according to its price......($105)
Link fo the mobo: http://www.flipkart.com/msi-970a-g46-motherboard/p/itmd...
and about the gpu there remains ($175).at this price you can get a good gpu...
Price for gtx 650ti boost($225)
Go for the gtx 650ti boost its another great product.......
Link for 650ti : http://www.flipkart.com/zotac-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti...
i know it's out of budget but but and go for it is a great gpu

1) This is an old thread

2) AMD arent "much more better than intel"

1st: AMD FX-4130 is a particularly good cpu: it's a similar speed to the Intel Core
i3-3225, but the two extra cores will help with
multi-tasking applications, and at US$99.99
(about $109, £65) it's something like 25 % cheaper than Intel's offering Amd is cheaper than i3 and better.
2nd:AMD FX-6130 is even better, gives 6 cores, with overclocking upto
5GHz, and still at a very cheaper price.
3rd:The amd fx 8350 comes with 8 core at 4ghz and oc upto 5.0ghz also it is much cheaper than the i5 3570k.and the i5 3570k comes with 6 core ........
From this all espects accordind to prices and perfomance amd win from all espects............. :)

1. The 4130 is ok.. good for the price I suppose
2. Again, its good for the price, but not great.
3. The 3570k is 4 core not 6. More cores doesnt make it better.

I like the 8350, but it doesnt win everything because its cores arent as fast as intels.

dude you are correct that 8350 has 8 core but also look at the prices and ghz of the cpu amd is much cheaper than intel and also better in perfomance... Yes it the one you has few more dollars than go for intel. If you need good prodcut at cheaper rate than go for amd .. According to amd the ghz and core are more than intel and yes amd cpu's are much more cheaper than intel... :)
