Could this CPU handle the GTX 660?

The CPU is this: Intel Core Quad Q8300 2.50GHz

If I buy the GTX 660 it would run OK or it will lose fps and performance?

it will bottleneck dude.no can tell how much performance you will lose.best is to overclock that cpu to 3.2ghz minumum with Cm hyper evo 212 cooler to reduce bottlecneck

Ashish is right. Bottleneck all day long. Even if you OC the 8300, I'm sure it won't keep up with the 660ti. The highest I think you should go it a 650ti Boost. You will most likely see some bottleneck on the normal 660. It's time to invest in a new PC.
