gigabyte 7970 vs 7950

I am gonna buy a new gpu and its gonna be a gigabyte 7970 or a 7950 i am playing on a asus 27" full hd 1920x1080 screen atm but will later upgrade to crossfire 3 ips screens 24-27" so my question is should i go with the gigabyte 7970 and get the best or whould it be worth to choose the 7950 anyways? to get 60+ fps all the time with maxed graphics like bf 3 crysis 3 and so.

If those are you two choices then you should always go for the stronger card, which would be a the 7970. If you do plan on getting the 7970 then I would advise against the Ghz editions because most normal 7970's can overclock easily to the Ghz clock rates, unless you get a really bad card which is somewhat rare. Also if you do plan on overclocking the card then I also advise against Gigabyte models because there have been many reports of the card being voltage locked. You are safer with a Sapphire of His brand.

You really owe it to yourself and your bank account to do some research on Crossfire and Eyefinity setups. The latest reviews of the 7990 have exposed some serious flaws that are 100% valid for 7970's in Crossfire as well. Here's a sample reading selection.

if i do chose a other 7970 whould i need to add voltage to overclock it to like 1100 mhz or whould it go by just changing the core and what 7970 card whould be good i heard there are like 2 models 1 newer thathi gpu and 1 older and what whould have a better custom pcb? or whould it be worth to get 2 x gigabyte 7950? i have this mb asus m5a99x evo whould this be good with a crossfire setup?

If you go with 2x Gigabyte 7950's you should note that they most likely are voltage locked meaning that you won't be able to overclock them much if at all. For the brands like Sapphire, His, and Asus those cards aren't voltage locked so you can overclock them. The card I mentioned earlier "most likely" will not need any voltage tweaking to reach 1100mhz. Also your MoBo is fine for crossfire setup as it supports up to 4 way crossfire/sli.
