Problem is such: I have 3 HDD and 1 SSD(boot). recently, I was unable to boot while HDD 1 (D:/) is plugged in to power connector. Gets through loading drivers/files on boot screen, then sits there also starts to develop some artifacts on top of screen. However, pc boots just fine without it plugged in, or if i change its drive path letter.

Any help/ideas???? let me know if you need spec info or anything of that nature

Sounds like a bad drive... test it.

When you installed windows on the SSD did you have any other drives connected? It's best to load windows with only the ssd attached because otherwise it puts a recovery partition on other drives. This could be causing your problems if you attach and detach drives occasionally.

I am sure that I did have the others connected... what steps would you recommend?

Tested with HDTune (4 bad/damaged sectors), drive functionality after boot remains normal.

Copied contents to tertiary drive, reformatted, scanned and repaired, recopied... Problem remains
