I have an HTC Inspire 4G running MX Player for media playback. I have a chunk of my DVD collection ripped to mp4 and stored on a samba share on my network. If I pull the files to my /vids folder locally, they play fine, one after another as they complete. But if I access these same files over the network the player will play the first selected file and then exit.

Is there a setting somewhere that I can tell it to play all files in order whether or not the storage is local or network?

I am assuming you are streaming over wi-fi, and depending upon your connectivity strength/stability, it can be difficult to stream HD video across wi-fi. I do a lot of streaming on my home network - the wired devices always perform well, the wireless have issues with the HD streams, but go great in SD.

Yes, it is over WiFi, 5 bars, 150mb/s. I am in N only mode on the router (got all the G stuff off of my network). The files stream fine, except when one file over the network finishes, the next file just won't start unlike local playback...

Is there another player you could try?

I was going to take a look at DNLA players tonight when I got home... The Samba share is hung off of my router, which happens to be running MinDNLA as well on the same share...

Check Bubbleupnp. It will let create a Playlist from a dlna server to see in your phone, a dlna TV or Chromecast.

Bubbleupnp will launch your video player of choice.

I just wish I knew how to STOP MX Player from automatically launching the next movie.
