Hey guys i recently bought a Intel G840 and im wondering if it would be worth it to oc it and if so with what program? The rest of my build is ASRock extreme3 Gen3 motherboard, 8gb of pny ram at 1600mhz, EVGA 460se graphics card.
People are going to come in here and say you cant overclock it but you can. Look up intel limited overclocking. You should be abke to overclock it up to 400 mhz higher then the current turbo for any given current turbo speed given a certain load and temps.

It doesn't have turbo so can't be overclocked unless you change bclk which isn't recommended. The 400mhz only applies to quad core i5 and i7 since those have turbo. The 400mhz is also a result of 4 bins because there are 4 cores. While the g840 is a only a dual core.
hmm .. guys i saw some review the multi get 29 and world record superpi multi 30 .. it mean can be overclock but not too much and waste time

Take a look at the settings, multi is 28. It's a bclk oc, 28x108=3ghz.
