Mircrosoft Office uninstall problem

I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2010 and tried to install 2013 but getting the error in the attached image, have no idea what went wrong or how to fix?

Just called MS Support, they said OFFICE 2013 does not work with Vista so I tried to reinstall the same 2010 version I had on this machine but now I am getting another error:

Microsoft setup boots-trapper had stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working corectly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.


searched the net and found others have this problem but no answer how to solve it as far as I can see>

Did you restart the Pc yet? Shut down, wait a minute then boot up.
Check the Control Panel > Programs And Features for Microsoft Office products and uninstall.

Actually, I have problems uninstalling in Vista but only Trial software.
