very Bad performance 7950

Hello, can anyone help me?

I built in a 7950 and I ran Crysis 2, it ran okay but then suddenly the fps dropped. And now I have like 20 fps on the lowest settings.

I don't know what to do..

umm need a lot more information than, like your current spec, graphic setting, single player vs multiple player, only Crysis or other games as well ....

CPU: Phenom II 955 3.7 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
PSU: 850W

I tried Crysis 2 Singleplayer on the lowest graphics settings, it's like 20 fps.

Resolution?

Drivers up to date? Have you tried a clean install?

1080p.

I just tried Starcraft 2 as well, it's 25 fps. This is ridiculous

First I'm assuming you have updated the drivers or if you just did maybe you should roll back. Also have you tried another game just to see if its all games or just that one game ?

I have just reinstalled all display drivers, still the same result. I tried SC2 as well.
But I have just found something weird. I started GPU-Z during the gameplay and told it it to display the highest reading of the GPU clock --> it's 500 MHz. The highest Memory clock is 150 MHz, what the hell is this? The card runs at idle apparently.

Well when I move around in 20 fps Crysis 2 for a minute I have a temp of 36° C.

Go into CCC overdrive and make sure it isn't turned down to very low levels or something like that.

I already checked that, I even overclocked it a bit, but still always seems to run at idle.

Do you guys think I should try previous drivers? Where can I find those, all I find on AMD are the current and the beta drivers.

And from a different viewpoint...
Try checking Task Manager, maybe something is sucking up CPU time and holding the system back.

I don't remember where i read this, but have you been watching youtube or something of that nature? somewhere i read under certain circumstances the card will get stuck at 500mhz after watching certain media. Reboot and see what happens. I've never had this happen and run two 7950's in crossfire, but i remember reading this somewhere.
