Hello everyone,

I am having bandwidth issues in my network. The current internet line from the ISP is 50Mbps, but we are not getting the complete bandwidth (almost 20Mbps is lost). I have been analyzing the network past few days using PRTG and learnt that a mjaor portion of the bandwidth is being utilized by an unkown Source IP going towards unkown destination IP using an unknown port number(none of them are being shown in their respective tables, just the utilized bandwidth shown). I came to a conclusion that some one in my network might be using a proxy such as hotspot shield which is taking major portion of the bandwidth and where i believe the bandwidth i being leaked. Is there any means of blocking the use of hotspot shield?. I am not sure whether this is the actual problem. Or are there any other possible problems. help needed badly

Thanks in advance :)

Just figure out what port it is using and block this with the firewall. Also look in DHCP some devices show names and could be a way to identify the device. Also We use Sonicwalls and there is a section in there that shows what IP is using the most bandwidth. Block this IP and wait for a screamer LOL. In firewall possibly block outgoing VPN or GRE connections if you don't need them will stop encrypted VPN tunnen also.
