So im building a PC to a budget of 630 pounds which equates roughly to 1000 dollars for americans...

Now i know clock for clock Intel is faster per cycle but i wan't to know how this transfers specificly to gaming performence. I.E how noticable is the difference when actually gaming...

I believe on for example a 60 hertz monitor you are limited to 60p frames per second reguardless to how fast the game is running. Would (at 720p) the CPU be the limiting factor for gaming (e.g. BF3)

----------
To summarise hopefully, as a babble whilest writing though i hope that gives you a bit of perspective on my circumstances...

- Is there a significant performence gap between an I5 3570K and FX-8320 (and / or 8350)

- Am i right about monitors?

- As an aside how would intel I5 "P" edition stack up against the AMD FX-8320?

The difference is actually significantly noticeable when gaming if you're using any game that's CPU heavy but not well-multithreaded. *(i.e. most of the heavy hitters.)

If you're playing at 720p, with any sort of decent graphics card, then yes, the CPU is what will hold you back.

The i5-3350p is a great option if you aren't overclocking, but because it's locked and the 8320 is unlocked, if you are overclocking, the 8320 has the advantage.

What kind of graphics card you would constrew as decent on a 720p screen? Also would both the i5 3570k and FX 3820 both attain decent FPS on, for example, battlefield 3 on a 720p screen? (Ultra settings?)
