Looking for advice and info.

My current rig is sitting dormant while the PSU is being RMA'd. Since I'm doing a new build this summer I thought I'd buy the PSU for it now so that I'm up and running, and then swap it back out to just sit on the shelf until I buy the other components.

Needs to power:

  • ■ Haswell chipset with Intel's top LGA1150 CPU.
    ■ 2 MSI 7950's (will probably be swapped out for currently non-existent but inevitable GTX780's)
    ■ 16GB DDR3 1600 Ram
    ■ 3 HDD's and 1 SSD
    ■ Entry-level water cooling like H100.
Entire system needs overclocking room as well.

Here are some I've considered:

XFX 1050W

Corsair HX850

Any perspective is appreciated.

Thanks for the prompt and insightful response. I also noticed that the HX850 is the highest rated power supply on newegg. I've just found out that my local memoryexpress is having a deal-of-the-day on the Antec HCP-850 this week. Which means it will be somewhere below it's current price of $139. I'm guessing $119. At that price it could be tough to pass up.

But can these 850W PSU's safely power everything I need?
