built a PC about 7 years ago that was my rig at the time. Over the years I ended up building a new rig piece by piece, but kept all of the old parts. My buddy is a diablo nut, but his laptop just cant handle it. I told him I would build him a PC using my spare parts, the only thing I have kept from my original build was my power supply.

So I found a power supply, and I put it in but the thing would not boot.

I have a feeling the board is bad somehow, but I also feel like I am forgetting something stupid and its an easy fix.

This is the board: http://

This is the new power supply: http://

Processor: http://

I have 6 gigs of RAM in her as well.

I thought the power supply might be bad, so I RMA'd it and got the new one today, but still nothing.

The machine did boot ONCE with the old power supply. But it wouldnt get past the first screen.

The machine will start to boot, but then it seems to be resetting itself. The GPU (HD 4870) is very loud and the fans spin like crazy when its first booted up, but then after the board posts I remember the fans slow quite a bit. The fans slow, but then suddenly jump back up.

I tried another GPU just to make sure that wasnt the problem, and I also threw my 1100t in to make sure it wasnt the processor. Same effect, starts to boot then resets.

Any help would be lovely!
