I have used the Windows Tool for creating a bootable flash drive (Kingston 4GB Data Traveller. I can boot to the device through BIOS, and I get to the point where the installer screen for Win7 comes up. When I continue the system looks for an installation of Win7, then reports a error "driver not found" and the install will go no further until I find this driver. What driver does it want? A Dell driver? A Win7 driver. The issue does not seem to be with the laptop finding and booting from the flash drive, it wants this driver that I can't seem to find.
