Hello all. This is my first time posting here so if there is something I missed please let me know. Basically, I put together a build I figured would be nothing short of epic: AMD FX8320, 2 MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III OC Edition cards at 2gb, 16GB of Ballistix RAM at 1600, ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0, Kingwin 1000W PSU, Seagate 2TB HDD, Corsair H50 all in the Thermaltake Chaser MKII case. Temps all stay great with no overclocking. Problem is, I get nowhere near the performance I came to expect from the build. Running Crysis 3 at max settings I average about 43 FPS, Far Cry 3 at max I average about 49, I get ~5700 on Furmark's 1080 benchmark and to make matters worse, when I adjust the core clock the cards crash past 150+ MHz no matter how much I overvolt. Memory clock has no effect on crashes just heat. Also, no performance gain really comes when I adjust the OC on the cards. My CPU currently runs at 4.2GHz and I tried seeing if the CPU overclock was what was causing the problem by returning it to stock speed. No effect. I am positively baffled at what the problem could be. 1000W for a two card setup is plenty, maybe even overkill, the mobo is intended for this sort of use, same with CPU, cards are meant to run faster stock, I am just completely confused. All drivers are installed and up to date as well. Any suggestions/advice would be infinitely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Which version of driver you installed? Ensure using the latest driver from nvidia site @ http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

In addition, ensure that in nvidia control panel the Phyx on GPU NOT CPU or Auto, preferable to be on the second GPU

Also, I think it's better to keep the CPU overclocked it will help too much with Crysis as it's sensitive to the CPU ... but at it's stock setting it can run it well.

Just to update the situation nd provide more clarification I am using a 1920x1080 monitor and my CPU now runs at 4.7GHz. Still having non-representative FPS rates in games for the power I'm packing... My video and chipset drivers, BIOS, and VBIOS are all up to date. I honestly have no clue why this is happening.

I've just tried this and it has not done much in all honesty. Planetside 2 draws similar issues as does Arkham City. I know these are all highly demanding games, but this setup should be more than capable to handle max settings on them at around 60 FPS to my knowledge.
