GIGABYTE GV-N65TOC-2GI GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Item#: N82E16814125446

ASUS GTX650TI-O-1GD5 GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Item#: N82E16814121686

To me it seems you are paying just for the name (GIGABYTE) . So yea I get that you have 2GB rather than 1GB but both cards seem to be the same except that Core Clock is of by 52 even the CUDA Cores stay the same ? Maybe the (GIGABYTE) is overclocked at factory and the (ASUS) is not ?

If anyone can Help me and everyone else out that would be great. Thanx in advance. Also both cards are from newegg site for the item number.

Spec differences are as follows:

Core clock: Asus is 980 MHz and the Gigabyte is 1032 MHz. Both are over-clocked but the asus will probably have a higher boost clock.
Memory clock: They both have a memory clock of 5400Mhz
VRAM: Asus has only 1 GB and the Gigabyte has 2 GB. If you are going to be gaming I believe you will benefit from the extra 1 GB provided by Gigabyte.
Video Connections: Both have the same. 2x DVI, 1x HDMI. 1x D-Sub
Power Output: Asus is 150W and the Gigabyte is 400W. Asus is consumption and Gigabyte is required.

The main difference that I can see...

The main difference that I can see is the amount of VRAM. I would suggest to get a 2Gb model to add a little future proofing. The clock difference is minimal and they will most likely boost to similar speeds. As with factory over-clocking, both are but asus have 3 different models of the same card all with different factory over-clocking. The gigabyte card is over-clocked further than the asus card you have chosen.

Hope I have helped :D

Edit: I do agree with DarkSable... Mostly because I love my Asus card xD But for $10 more you get a whole 1 Gb of Vram and higher clock speeds. The cooler on the Asus is better though and the GPU tweak software is great for over clocking.

Edit: I would recommend the 2 Gb version of the Asus you have there. The only difference between two Asus cards is the extra VRAM and $15 (Same as the Gigabyte). They have the same core clocks, memory clocks, coolers, etc.

Both cars are overclocked (core):
- Gigabyte GV-N65TOC-2GI: 1032 MHz
- Asus GTX650TI-O-1GD5: 980 MHz

If you can benefit from 2GB of VRAM will depend on the use of your computer. When you are gaming, video editing or working with photoshop the 2GB of VRAM will defenitly help your overal performance :)

I dont know, I got always lucky and never had problems with Gigabyte before, and usually I read more complaints about Asus boards comapred to Gigabyte.
plus...
Gigabyte's are blue, Asus' are red :p

See, I've had to deal with their motherboards many times too often... Their UEFI controller, in particular, is just bloody awful.

That being said, your color-logic has me beat... unless I introduce a third contender: black. EVGA ftw!

yea i like the evga layout too, esp. the color :)
too sad that evga's performance are no match to neither asus or gigabyte.. esp for o/c'ing

I highly disagree here. Yes, the other two are far better for overclocking on air, but EVGA is by far the best choice for overclocking on water - their warranty actually covers you if you burn out your card while overclocking, which is kind of incredible. Add in the equalizing cooling of water, and, well...

Then it only loses on VRMs and voltage. Voltage can be fixed with a different BIOS, and while it doesn't have as good power phase technology (save, perhaps, for the 670 FTW), the warranty makes up for it, to me.

On the other hand, we're talking about a 650ti, so none of this really matters. :p
