Hi,

I just bought a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b001ee 5 days ago.

It had a basic w8 but i needed domain so I (quite foolishly) formatted the drive including the recovery drive to install a win 7 ultimate. The install was unsuccessful as it said that "hardware is not compatible with windows 7".

So now I have a machine without an OS. I wanted to know is there any way i can download a bootable version of w8 that can detect my embedded key and help me get the OS back on the system. (I can live without the windows domain function)

I really dont want to go into the hassle of contacting the vender and wait days and days for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Bad news.
You can`t read the embedded key and just type it in new installation.
You must contact seller or HP Support to assist you.
As far i`m getting the problem you had to made an HP Recovery media when you system was OK or having recovery partition.
Check this link : http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c03601748/c03601748.pdf
And this one : http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33642_7-57554240-292/windows-8-moves-to-bios-based-product-keys/
Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys!!

I know its my fault i didn't burn the recovery media. But again I think the best solutions would be if someone can link me a downloadable recovery media for this specific device or suggest otherwise

Again Thanks a dozen!!!
