I have a HP m7367c. I wanted to add a new HD and windows 7 but things happen.
1 get message sometimes that a system fan failed. One tec. just said push f2 and forget it.
(I had two new fans)
Now after setting awhile it will shut itself off. Seems to be ok while I'm using it.
Tried to defrag. but defrag stops after going awhile, seems to always be at same same spot.
I have run system mechanic and malware and they also stop after a long working time and never finish.
I also had FBI virus but finally got rid of that (I think).
Does anyone know or think they know what my problem is? P.S. it says I have 90 gb of free space on HD.

I agree with anonymous 1. and wonderer11 is correct, Because that's my aim it may be the solution but will I still have the problem? Rick, i already tried Malwarebytes in safe mode and otherwise. I thank each of you for the suggestions.

If you have tried all of our suggestions and no luck, then you probably have some corrupted system files, left over from the virus. A lot of viruses write parts of their code in various files to try to hide. Instead of all of it in one file.
My next suggestion would be to try a repair install. It may or may not fix your system.
If that fails there is nothing left to do but save your important files and do a Format and fresh install.

A reinstall is all that will fix something gone so far. Backup the most needed files and then do the reinstall, if you don't know how go on youtube for tutorials, they will help you more than me writing.
