I'm looking to build a PC that can handle most new games (Bioshock Infinite, Battlefield, Skyrim. etc.) on medium-high settings at a good FPS. I set a budget of $1k to $1,100, so I was hoping for opinions/suggestions on how I could improve it and stick fairly close to my budget.

You are missing a power supply, I would look at something in the 500-600 watt range from Corsair/SeaSonic/XFX/PC P&C. It is going to put you over budget slightly but I don't see many places to trim without hindering performance too much.

I would change to the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, and it comes with thermal compound already.

Other than it looks good.

I felt like I was missing something important, thanks for spotting that.
