Have a rather odd power related issue that I would appreciate some thoughts on.
Two days ago I went to turn on my comp and as it started to boot, it shut off and proceed to attempt to boot up every few secs, but never getting more than 5 or so seconds into boot. I unplugged the power cord, turned the switch on the PSU to off, and waited a few seconds. When I plugged the cord back in, hit the PSU switch, and then turned the comp on, it booted up without issue. Yesterday the same thing happened and I was able to "remedy" the problem the same way.
I have tried using a new power cord but that was not the issue. Based on these symptoms, does this appear to a PSU issue, a motherboard issue, or perhaps a short somewhere in the wiring? I appreciate any and all thoughts.
