So today I made the switch to wired internet (it's glorious), but I get random disconnects from the network. How do I fix this

So I've connected to it using a 20m ethernet cable, the internet is very fast.
But say, every 10 mins to 2 hours I get disconnected for about 3 mins, this may not seem a major issues but for some online games if I get disconnected it's pretty fatal (dota 2). Why do I keep getting dced?

I've disconnected my wireless card altogether, what do yo mean disabling the wireless network?

Well, assuming you are connected via Cat 5 Ethernet cable to a wireless router or a modem/router that has wireless, log onto the router and turn off the wireless signal, so it's just a wired router. Usually you do that by opening a web browser and typing in the IP address of your router. It should be the address of what Windows calls your "gateway" (open a command prompt and run "ipconfig" to determine your gateway ip address).

This answer assumes you're running a later version of Windows and that you're connected to a wireless router/modem. You didn't say.

I think it's worked, I've disabled the wireless signal from the router now.
