Struggling to find a quality power supply for my new build that requires roughly 450watt, want a PS in between 550-650watt that is in stock and has indepth reviews to read.

Looked at loads and stock seems to be dire for anything i end up wanting. I will purchase off any major UK retailer that has more than 2-3 in stock.

Any help be most welcome!!

The M12ii would work well: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-M12II-520-Semi-Module-ATX12V-Power-Supply/dp/B0038T0V8Q/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1367344305&sr=1-2&keywords=m12ii+520

It's not as high wattage as the CX series from Corsair, but it's much higher quality (CX is Tier 3, whereas S12ii is Tier 1/2 I believe, so it's the best of the best): http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx You can also get the S12ii, which is the same quality, only not semi-modular. Seasonic are definitely up there in terms of the most respected power supply brand, whereas the CX series is Channel Well (which is not by any means bad, but when compared with Seasonic...). Corsair's higher end PSUs (the HX and AX series) are mostly made by Seasonic, it's only their low end CX/TX that have Channel Well as the OEM.

Here's a review of the S12ii on JonnyGuru (the most respected review site) where it get's a fantastic 9.7: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=185

They also do a 620W version for about £10 more.

You're making the tier 3 seem Bad, please Marshall hust because yuou want to make your unique mark on some thread doesn't mean that you confuse people and not making the required targets with your suggestions (being here under the required wattage and above stated price) .

At the second paragraph in :
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/psus/2009/04/27/corsair-cx-400w-psu-review/1

The CX also made by seasonic or CWT ...
And may I remind you that you suggested a Tier 3 PSU in other thread we've been at (silverstone) ?

For the OP teh CX 600w is good and reliable PSU, It would be a great choice for you to get, But I'll keep looking for Tier 2 or 1 for you.

Have no worries :)

Corsair GS600 seems ideal, but can not find a detailed review from the major names.

@yasserBasha I never said tier 3 was bad. Tier 3 is fine, as it says on the list. I have no qualms on recommending anything Tier 3 and above.

However the OP mentioned that he wanted a quality power supply and quality was more important than wattage. He even says he wants a Tier 2 or above power supply... To say that the CX series (Corsair's absolute lowest grade power supplies) are of the same quality as Seasonic's mid range offerings is silly. They are great power supplies, but that's only for their price, which is a little lower than the kind of money you have to pay for a very high quality PSU. Again I never said or even implied that tier 3 was "bad" or dangerous, just when the OP put so much emphasis on a "high quality power supply", that's what should be recommended.

I also don't see how £74 is outside of his £70-£85 budget...

This one is fulfilled by Amazon, and works with your new budget: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-M12II-620-Semi-Module-620W-ATX12V-Supply/dp/B003BIEOBY/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1367360259&sr=1-2&keywords=m12ii+620+bronze The High Current Gamer is also a very good supply though.

EDIT: Just found out, the Antec is basically an M12ii interally, just re-branded, so go for the Antec one if it's cheaper.
