Is my Computer Bottlenecking Somewhere?

Hi, I just recently bought a GTX 670 FTW SIG 2 about a week ago, and decided to run the FFXIV benchmark and ended up with a score of 5.8k. I thought this was rather good except I noticed that it had fps lag during the benchmark in the same areas that my 460 SE were, and I never over clocked either, plus I've seen people with this card with scores of 7k+. Some games are also running oddly like warframe on line has fps of 10 - 20 (unplayable). I wiped my HDD last week and reinstalled only essentials such as all the drivers for everything and even reinstalled drivers for GPU just in case. Every component on my computer is 2 years old except the GTX 670. Here are my results for the benchmark and my hardware, I'm thinking of brining in the GPU to get tested where I bought it at tiger direct. I've read about alot of people having fps issues with the 670 however and my mobo is only PCIE 2.0 and not 3.0 like the card but I was told that wouldn't matter. Hopefully a future driver update will resolve these issues. Please help me if you can to set my mind at ease, it would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Your cpu is the bottleneck by a long shot, Upgrade to 3570k an you will see a 30-40 fps minimum fps boost across the board in any game. Sadly AMD cpu's are only good for non cpu intensive gaming which really shows in games like MMO's and RTS. FPS games are fine for AMD cpu's in the most part unless your talking about Crysis 3

If he upgrades to the i5 he definately would not be getting that much of a performance boost since games require more graphics processing power than cpu. Also it isn't that big of a bottleneck if he overclocks it to 4 ghz the bottleneck will be gone. Amd cpus aren't that bad and for the price you can't beat them(coming from intel fan.)

Thank you for all of your answers, I truly appreciate them and didin't expect so many responses in 1 day, but I know nothing of overclocking and if I did try to learn how would it take much time? because I'm not home often :[. It would be great if there was an auto overclocking tool that would let me set the clock that high but from what I know Oc'ing directly from bios is better. I think upgrading is a much easier solution and is my mobo fine? It's pretty old and was cheap, is it significantly bottlenecking anything? And if I did switch to the intel 3570k, I would need a new mobo because mine is only amd compatible.

EDIT: I just figured something out, Warframe online gives like 20 frames whenever I play with dx11, but as soon as I disable and go on with dx 9, I got over 200 fps on main screen and over 120 in a mission

If you decide to get an i5 you would need to get a new lga1155 motherboard. Also about warframe that actually does make sense since a lot of dx11 features (tesselation, etc.) aren't present in dx9 and they themselves require a lot of graphical power.

The cpu, as it's already mentioned, is the bottleneck. It's also mentioned how to solve the issue however in switching to a new platform or overclocking which is not a bad idea. Learning it won't take a lot of time as you will need to watch out for the base frequency, cpu voltage as well as Vcore (the core voltage). Since I don't have the motherboard I can't say how to overclock but you will need to get within EUFI and see what it has to offer or hope someone here guide to the basics.

Another alternative is to way for steamroller, presuming that Asus M4A88TM is accepting AM3+ mobo, and you will this way get more out of the 670, this way you'll only need to upgrade the cpu.

Incorrect, he would not see much of a performance increase ( 5 -10fps)in gpu bound titles.

In this situation, ( cpu bound ) he would see anywhere up to a 40% gain in performance with an i5.

This is odd because I just checked youtube for other people playing warframe at dx11 and they are at max fps and even running my processor, phenom II x4 965 as well as 600 series under 670. something isn't right and I'm not sure what to do becuase I already have all drivers and dx installed :c. I'm going to make a partition and reinstall the main things like drivers there and see what happens. In the past I was able to run dx 11 crysis 2 wih gtx 460 se as only difference in hardware, and I was at 40 - 60. I have already tried switching cards tho and no luck. Even assassin's creed 3 was running at 40 - 60 at max as well but now I'm getting 10 - 20 in all dx 11 games. This is ridiculous I even reinstalled this stuff :c. I doubt it's the card because when I am running dx 9 liek warframe, the fps is very high. If anything I'll change mobo but processor should be perfectly fine since alot of ppl are using that with a 600 series on warframe dx 11.

Soooo I'm not sure how I fixed it, but I did and now warfrmae on dx 11 is over 60 fps for sure (haven't tried a monitoring program like fraps yet) but im 100% sure because its so dam smooth its perfect. Everything max settings and resolution and now it's running nice after I made another partition and reinstalled windows AGAIN. This makes no sense because I wiped my entire HDD the first time with no difference -.-. I guess it's the order in which I installed the drivers? which is a little ridiculous. Well thanks for all your help guys but now I know that I don't need to change any of my hardware. Thank you for the time you spent to try and help me I really appreciate it! have a great day everyone :D.
