Gigabyte 7970 cant oc good?

as the titel says many ppl say that the gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD rev 2.1 that i think all the new ones are cant over clock like at all and becomes unstable if you only add like 70 mhz is this true? or can you over clock this http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4102#sp

to the same core and memory clock mhz as this

It has to do with the fact its already factory Overclocked notice the OC in the name of the gpu that you listed

honestly depends on your luck with the chip lottery... every chip is a bit different

yes i know that but i did read some reviews on the card and some say you cant like oc it at all im not planning on overclock it with incresing voltage i just wanna know if you can overclock it normaly to about 1100 mhz without haveing to add voltage or so because some ppl say you cant overclock it like at all sorry if this is confusing

It's voltage locked, don't buy it.

The only way to guarantee that is with voltage control. You are clearly after a card that you can OC well so why not buy one with an unlocked voltage?

what 7970 card whould you suggest as what i checked the gigabyte is one of the best 7970 cards or the sapphire im not looking for a beast overclockable 7970 i just dont think the premium price for the gigabyte 1100 mhz core and 6000 mhz memory vs the 1000 mhz core and 5500 mhz memory is worth the 70$ diffrent

I don't know where you are getting the numbers from because overclocking is totally random.
