Trying to setup two monitors without laptop monitor

I would like to use two extrernal monitors instead of my laptop monitor because the two I have are a lot better and bigger. I'm having difficulty with this and havent actually found a solution anywhere. It pretty much is I'd like my laptop to be able to run lid closed, while I run my 2 external monitors to use the computer with.

google around for other USB solutions

However...some laptops have a heat issue running when closed.

Wow thanks! I also have one more question... I just closed the lid and the 2nd monitor came to life so it fixed itself, but my eSATA port has a usb in it. Now will the usb thing work with my third monitor with Eyefinity, I'd like to play a game across three screens...

You could try it, but I wouldn't count on it actually working.

No way will it work. USB video is for business graphics only. Eyefinity requires 3 monitors attached to an eyefinity capable GPU. If your laptop is eyefinity capaable instructions for it would be in the user manual.

Well my card is the 6990M yet for some odd reason it only has HDMI and a DL-DVI-I port. Is the miniport still there or did they remove it, and when I say still there I mean its there but not exposed.
