Hello all, i'm unsure if this is the right category to post in or not but here goes. I've recently purchased a pci-e wireless card for my desktop from Rosewill. this one here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166073 I noticed my connection was slow and sometimes un-detectable in some cases. I went to speedtest.net and my speeds were 1.2 down and .6 up. I then put my laptop directly next to my desktop and ran a speed test on it. I got 2.5 down and 1 up. Any ideas as to why my connection is half of what my laptop is getting? if it helps, my wireless router is Netgear. Thanks in advance for any help!

Try turning the machine so the back of case faces the router. This is the main problem with internal cards. They sit so close to the back of the machine that the case is blocking the signal from many directions.

Laptops have the antenna built into the back of screen so they tend to work pretty well.

The card has Two antennas on it. That's not the problem.
The router sits 2 floors above my desktop so pointing the back of my case up seems a little overboard. I have the antennas pointing up towards the router.
