Hey guys,

Whenever I open any folder in Windows 8, explorer suddenly crashes and then restarts. I have been looking for a fix however nothing has worked. I have Kaspersky Anti Virus installed and I have tested for Malware but it says the system is clean. Can you guys please point me in the right direction or give me some help?Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Windows 8 has its own built in antivirus, there's no need to run any other software such as Kaspersky or Malwarebytes. There have been documented compatibility and performance issues, although I'm not aware of ones such as that which you describe.

My suggestion would be to uninstall all third party monitoring, antimalware or antivirus programs. After that, run Windows Update. If that doesn't fix the problem, reinstall Windows 8 or perform a system repair.

As a word of advice, the number of attack vectors on Windows 7 and Windows 8 are severely limited compared to Windows XP. Most viruses are packaged with freeware programs and cracked/pirated programs. Stick with commercial off the shelf products, or free and open source products, and...
