gtx 680 or gtx 690

I will be running it on one monitor 1920x1080 resolution with 60Hz at 21.5 inches. Im planning to keep this graphics card for at least 3-4 years. So would a gtx 690 be more worth it in the long run? Also how many gb should I get with either one?
