Was going to get a msi z77a g45 it supports dual crossfire @ x8and @x8
I haven't bought it yet so should I go with a motherboard that supports crossfire at 16,8. Or 16,16 I've heard there's not much performance loss.
Is the x8 x8 good enough?

Solution
Don't even worry about it at all unless you plan to crossfire high end cards sometime soon. 1 powerful GPU is always better than 2 weaker ones.

There are very few Z77 boards with PCIe 3.0 x16 x16. Plus it really isn't truly x16 x16, it will simply give the card that is under the most load the full x16 lanes when it needs it. This is done with a PLX chip. On all the other Z77 x8 x8 boards, it is done through the Ivy Bridge CPU and they are always split evenly at x8 each. This is because IB CPUs can only control up to 16 lanes of PCIe 3.0 at any given time. The difference isn't much. PCIe 3.0 x8 = PCIe 2.0 x16
