Hey I'm getting a rig from ava soon, and is this going to be a decent machine? I need it to play Far Cry 3, Black Ops 2, and GTA IV. I really don't mind it at Medium or low settings. Another thing, is avadirect a good place to pick from? I am not really comfortable building my own.

I think the GTX 660 should handle all those games, and the 6300 is still pretty decent at 3.5 GHZ. (I plan to overclock)

Thanks!

PS. Is the PSU going to handle everything?

Solution
I have never and wouldn't ever buy a pre-built, but I have heard good things about cyberpower. It all a crap shoot. They are all decent and will gladly take your money.
Just wondering, why aren't you comfortable building one yourself?

It's no harder than legos for adults, it only takes a normal Phillips screwdriver, and there are dozens of very good youtube videos that will walk you through it, step by step. You'll be able to pick your parts to get the best performance, it'll cost less, it's fun, you'll have learned something, and you'll be proud of yourself and of your computer.

Meh, I just don't want to risk breaking one wire or any of that.. Also, I get a warranty so that's a huge bonus. The final thing I would say is that I've never actually touched a piece of hardware. I rather someone build it with quality..

Okay, I selected default ethernet. Also, the motherboard has a sound card correct? Just a side note, with all the money I saved from the thermal paste and ethernet I selected a better case :D

It's actually pretty hard to break one yourself, and parts come with their own warranties; usually better ones than prebuilts give.

That being said, consider buying the parts yourself and having a local PC shop put it together for you? The only reason I'm pushing it is because you'll get much better price / performance.

Okay, thanks for all your help! One last thing, should I go with avadirect or cyberpowerpc? I have heard way better reviews of Ava, and it's cheaper, but you never know.

I agree with that but, my dad isn't that much of a computer person and he is all naive and is just worried.. It's a splurge for him getting this computer for me and he only goes with stuff he knows like HP, Dell, etc. I convinced him to let me get something from ava but I doubt he will let some person build it.

But lastly, if something in my desktop breaks during shipping, could I get a replacement? I know on ava you can submit a RMA, but is their customer support good?

I'm not at all familiar with avadirect; haven't heard anything about them one way or another.

That being said, sites like these live and die on their customer reviews, so I would imagine if they get uppity that going to the BBB would solve your problems.
