Computer Very Slow after Expansion

My old desktop computer was running on integrated graphics for a while, so I decided to buy an ASUS NVIDIA Geforce 210 to increase its light gaming capability. The day I put the graphics card in and installed the drivers that were on the CD that came with it, the computer was very unresponsive and unstable, and impossible to use. Confused, I installed the latest 314.22 drivers, which fixed the problem and made the computer run perfectly.
MY computer still wasn't connected to the internet, so I bought a wireless adapter for it, and installed that today. After installing the drivers for it and setting it up, my computer has become unresponsive again. It's the exact same situation as it was before I updated my drivers. I know that it's likely that the adaptor is causing the problem, but removing it is not a permanent solution. Does anyone have any other ideas about what the problem could be? I thought it might be that the PSU can't handle all the additional components, but they are both very frugal on power consumption and I don't think that that would make the computer slow. From what I know it would just prevent it from even running. Am I wrong?
Thanks for your help!

No I made it a point to uninstall the intel graphics drivers before installing the NVIDIA drivers. That can't be it. Unless the wireless adaptor's drivers are conflicting which doesn't make much sense.

ActuallyI noticed it makes a huge difference. My processor on the old desktop it a Core 2 Duo, so the integrated graphics are quite outdated. also, my monitor is only a 1024x768 monitor, so with the Geforce 210, I can run most games at low setting at max resolution. In any case, I'm only really looking to run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, which is not a graphics intensive game as it is. It's much smoother with the card.
